Amarnath Yatra 2012
The annual Amarnath Yatra is one of the most famous annual religious functions of Hindus, wherein devotees travel by foot to pay obeisance to Holy Shiv Lingam at Shree Amarnathji cave in south Kashmir Himalayas. The beginning date of Amarnath Yatra 2012 is in all probability during the last week of June. The Amarnath Yatra of 2012 concludes on August 2, 2012 on Raksha Bandhan day.
The cave shrine is noted for the formation of a natural Shiva Lingam. The natural ‘ice lingam’ is formed by the ice droplets from the rooftop of the vast cave.
